Community Terms
Production Master Community Licence
Version 2026-10-25
Acceptance
These terms (the "Community Terms") govern your use of the Production Master Community edition: the container images and related software that Production Master distributes, free of charge, for you to run on your own infrastructure (the "Community Software"). Self-hosting is in closed beta.
You accept these terms by accepting them in Settings, Self-host in your Production Master account. Acceptance records the version shown above, your account and the time. We issue an install credential only after you accept. If you do not agree, do not accept them and do not use the Community Software.
What you may do
Production Master grants you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download, install and run the Community Software on infrastructure you control, for your own internal operations, including investigating your own production incidents.
You may keep copies of the images in a private registry or cache that you control, solely to run the Community Software on your own infrastructure.
What you may not do
You agree not to:
- Redistribute, publish, sell, sublicense or otherwise make the images or the Community Software available to anyone outside your organisation
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or try to extract source code from the Community Software, except to the extent the law does not allow this restriction
- Remove or alter any notice, label or licence text in the Community Software
- Offer the Community Software as a hosted or managed service to third parties
- Share your install credential, or work around the limits and controls on the registry
Third-party and open-source components included in the images stay under their own licences, which govern those components.
Your install credential
The install credential is a personal, pull-only registry:pull token tied to your account. It lets you pull the Community Software images from the Production Master registry and does not give access to the hosted service. It is shown once when you create it. Keep it secret.
A token expires after at most 365 days, and you can revoke it yourself at any time in Settings. We limit how many tokens you can hold and how much you can pull with each. You are responsible for what is done with a token issued to you.
What we record when you pull images
For each image manifest pull, we record the token ID, the user, the organisation, the image, the tag, the digest, the user agent, the client IP address and the time.
We use these records to operate and secure the registry, to know who installed, to prevent abuse and to enforce these terms. They include personal data. We have not published a fixed retention period for them.
The registry log covers acquiring the images only. We do not check this licence while the software runs, and the running software does not report back to us for licensing purposes.
Suspension and revocation
We may suspend or revoke an install credential, remove your recorded acceptance and block you or your organisation from enrolling again, at any time, including for breach of these terms or abuse of the registry. We record the action and our stated reason in your organisation's audit log.
A revoked credential stops working immediately for the hosted API and within about a minute at the registry. Images you have already pulled keep running, but a revocation for breach ends your licence under these terms.
Term and termination
These terms apply until they end. You can end them at any time by revoking your tokens, stopping use and deleting the Community Software. We may end them if you breach them. When they end, you must stop using the Community Software and delete your copies.
Ownership
Production Master and its licensors own the Community Software and all rights in it. These terms give you only the licence above. You retain ownership of the data you process with the Community Software, and these terms give us no rights over it.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE COMMUNITY SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. PRODUCTION MASTER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT IT WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS. SELF-HOSTING IS IN CLOSED BETA AND MAY CHANGE.
AI-generated investigation reports and root-cause analyses are suggestions only and require human review before acting on them. Production Master is not liable for decisions made based on AI outputs.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PRODUCTION MASTER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE COMMUNITY SOFTWARE.
Other agreements
Enterprise deployments are governed by their own written agreement, which prevails over these terms where it applies. The website is governed by our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
Changes to These Terms
When we change these terms in a way that matters, we publish a new version with a new version identifier and ask you to accept it. We may decline to issue new install credentials until you do.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the applicable jurisdiction without regard to conflict of law provisions.
